A Bundesliga star has been hospitalized after being involved in a car accident, it has been reported. Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface suffered minor injuries after a car crash on Saturday, November 30.
The Nigerian international had previously secured Leverkusen’s win with a crucial goal in their 2-1 Bundesliga triumph over Eintracht Frankfurt. However, later that evening, the 23-year-old was taken to the hospital after the Mercedes he was in was part of a severe collision.
Boniface posted pictures and a video of his damaged Mercedes on Instagram, including an image of his injured hand and a selfie from the hospital, where he simply stated: “Thank you lord. ” The day after, he shared posts on social media saying: “God is the greatest – my time hasn’t come. ”
Reports indicate that Boniface was not behind the wheel at the moment of the accident. He was said to be en route to Frankfurt Airport to collect friends.
