University Park, PA – Penn State wrestling coach Cael Sanderson has reached a major milestone, winning his 400th career match as a head coach. Sanderson, who is in his 15th season at Penn State, is one of the most successful coaches in college wrestling history.

Sanderson, a four-time NCAA champion as a wrestler at Iowa State, began his coaching career at Iowa State in 2004. He spent three seasons as the Cyclones’ head coach before taking over at Penn State in 2009.

Under Sanderson’s leadership, Penn State has become one of the dominant programs in college wrestling. The Nittany Lions have won eight NCAA team titles, including four in a row from 2011 to 2014.
