University Park, PA – Penn State wrestling head coach Cael Sanderson has achieved a major milestone, winning his 500th career match as the Nittany Lions’ coach.
Sanderson, who has led Penn State to unprecedented success, including 10 NCAA team titles, reached the milestone with a dominant 38-6 win over Michigan State.
“I’m humbled and grateful to have had the opportunity to coach so many amazing student-athletes over the years,” Sanderson said. “This milestone is a testament to their hard work and dedication.”
Sanderson’s 500th win is a testament to his incredible coaching career, which has seen him become one of the most successful coaches in college wrestling history.
“Cael is an incredible coach and an even better person,” said Penn State Athletic Director Pat Kraft. “We’re fortunate to have him leading our wrestling program, and we look forward to many more years of success under his guidance.”
The Nittany Lions will look to continue their winning ways under Sanderson’s leadership, as they pursue another NCAA team title.
