University Park, PA – The Penn State wrestling community is in shock and mourning following the sudden and unexpected passing of beloved head coach Cael Sanderson.

Sanderson, a legendary wrestler and coach, had been at the helm of the Penn State wrestling program since 2009, leading the Nittany Lions to eight NCAA team titles and establishing himself as one of the greatest coaches in college wrestling history.

“We are devastated by the loss of Coach Sanderson,” said Penn State Athletic Director Pat Kraft. “He was an incredible leader, mentor, and friend to so many. His impact on the sport of wrestling and the lives of countless student-athletes will never be forgotten.”
