
Levi Haines’ Breakout Season: Can He Win an NCAA Title as a Sophomore?

University Park, PA – Penn State’s Levi Haines has been making waves in the wrestling world with his impressive sophomore season. The 157-pounder has been dominating on the mat, with a 14-0 record and seven technical falls.
Haines’ breakout season has earned him a top ranking in his weight class, and many are predicting that he could win an NCAA title as a sophomore.
“Levi has been incredible this season,” said Penn State head coach Cael Sanderson. “He’s got a great combination of technique, strength, and athleticism. He’s definitely got the potential to win a national title.”
Haines’ success is no surprise to those who follow Penn State wrestling. He was a highly touted recruit coming out of high school, and he had a strong freshman season, finishing with a 20-4 record.
“I’ve been working hard in the offseason, trying to improve my technique and get stronger,” Haines said. “It’s paid off so far, but I know I’ve still got a lot of work to do if I want to win a national title.”
