Penn State’s Aaron Brooks Wins NCAA Title at 184 Pounds, Completes Perfect Season

St. Louis, MO – Penn State’s Aaron Brooks capped off a perfect season on Saturday, winning the NCAA title at 184 pounds with a dominating 7-2 victory over Iowa’s Michael Kemerer.

Brooks, a junior from Hagerstown, Maryland, finished the season with a 20-0 record, including 10 pins and 5 major decisions. He became the 14th wrestler in Penn State history to win an NCAA title.

“This is an incredible feeling,” Brooks said. “I’ve worked so hard for this moment, and to have it finally happen is just amazing.”

Brooks’ victory marked the third individual title for Penn State at the NCAA Championships, joining teammates Roman Bravo-Young (133 pounds) and Carter Starocci (174 pounds) as national champions.

“Aaron is an incredible wrestler and an even better teammate,” said Penn State head coach Cael Sanderson. “We’re so proud of him for achieving his goal of becoming an NCAA champion.”
