Penn State’s Star Wrestler, Carter Starocci, Wins 3rd Straight Big Ten Title

University Park, PA – Penn State’s Carter Starocci continued his dominance on the mat, winning his third consecutive Big Ten title at 174 pounds.

Starocci, a junior from Erie, Pennsylvania, defeated Iowa’s Michael Kemerer 6-4 in the championship match, capping off an impressive tournament run.

The Nittany Lion wrestler has now won three straight Big Ten titles, solidifying his position as one of the top wrestlers in the country.

“Carter is an incredible competitor,” said Penn State head coach Cael Sanderson. “He’s got a ton of heart and always finds a way to come out on top.”

Starocci’s victory marked one of five individual titles won by Penn State wrestlers at the Big Ten Championships, as the Nittany Lions took home the team title with 147.5 points.

Starocci will look to continue his winning ways at the NCAA Championships, where he’ll seek to add to his growing collection of accolades.
