
- HAINES WINS THRILLER AGAINST OHIO STATE’S KHARCHILA…

University Park, PA – Penn State wrestler Levi Haines won a thrilling match against Ohio State’s Carson Kharchila in the 157-pound weight class.
Haines, ranked No. 1 nationally, trailed 5-4 in the third period before scoring a reversal and near-fall to take a 10-5 lead. Kharchila, ranked No. 10, scored a late takedown, but Haines held on for a 10-7 victory.
“Levi showed great composure and toughness in that match,” said Penn State head coach Cael Sanderson. “He’s been in some tight spots before, and he always seems to come out on top.”
Haines’ win improved his season record to 19-0, with 10 bonus-point victories.
