VAN NESS WINS CLOSE MATCH AGAINST OHIO STATE’S D’EMILIO
University Park, PA – Penn State wrestler Shayne Van Ness secured a hard-fought victory over Ohio State’s Dylan D’Emilio in the 149-pound weight class.
Van Ness, ranked No. 2 nationally, edged D’Emilio, ranked No. 15, 8-6. The win was part of Penn State’s 30-8 dual meet victory over the Buckeyes.
“Shayne’s performance was gritty and impressive,” said Penn State head coach Cael Sanderson. “He’s been wrestling at a high level all season, and it’s great to see him come out on top in a tough match.”
Van Ness’s win improved his season record to 16-1, with 8 bonus-point victories.
