PENN STATE WRESTLING’S CARTER STAROCCI TAKES DOWN IOWA’S NELSON BRANDS
University Park, PA – Penn State wrestler Carter Starocci recorded a major decision victory over Iowa’s Nelson Brands in the 174-pound weight class.
Starocci, ranked No. 1 nationally, dominated Brands, ranked No. 6, 12-4. The win was part of Penn State’s 30-8 dual meet victory over Iowa.
“Carter’s performance was outstanding,” said Penn State head coach Cael Sanderson. “He’s been wrestling at a high level all season, and it’s great to see him have success against tough opponents.”
Starocci’s win improved his season record to 17-0, with 10 bonus-point victories.
