PENN STATE WRESTLING’S TYLER KASAK MAKES SUCCESSFUL RETURN TO MAT

University Park, PA – Penn State wrestler Tyler Kasak made a successful return to the mat after being sidelined with an injury since Super Bowl Sunday. Kasak, a redshirt freshman, competed in the 165-pound weight class and earned a decisive 10-2 major decision victory over his opponent.
Kasak’s return bolsters Penn State’s lineup, which has been dealing with injuries to several key wrestlers. The Nittany Lions are gearing up for the Big Ten Championships on March 8-9 in Evanston, Illinois.
“Tyler’s return is a big boost for our team,” said Penn State head coach Cael Sanderson. “He’s worked hard to get back on the mat, and we’re excited to see him compete.”
Kasak’s win was part of Penn State’s 35-6 rout of Northwestern. The Nittany Lions won nine of the 10 bouts, with six wrestlers recording bonus-point wins.
