The Penn State Nittany Lions wrestling team has completed its fifth consecutive undefeated season, achieving a 71st straight victory with a commanding 50-3 win over American University on Friday at Rec Hall. This remarkable achievement extends their win streak, now the second-longest in NCAA Division I men’s wrestling history.
In the final dual meet of the regular season, Penn State showcased their dominance by securing five pins and four technical falls. The match also marked the last home appearances for national championship contenders Beau Bartlett, Carter Starocci, and Greg Kerkvliet at Rec Hall.
Earlier in the season, the Nittany Lions clinched the Big Ten regular-season title with a decisive 29-9 victory over Illinois, setting a new Big Ten record with their 70th consecutive dual win.
Looking ahead, Penn State will begin the 2025-26 season six wins shy of breaking Oklahoma State’s record of 76 consecutive victories
