
_PENN STATE WRESTLING’S BEAU BARTLETT AND CARTER STAROCCI LEAD NITTANY LIONS TO BIG TEN CHAMPIONSHIP_

University Park, PA – The Penn State Nittany Lions wrestling team won their seventh Big Ten Championship in the last eight years, with Beau Bartlett and Carter Starocci leading the way.
Bartlett, a senior from Tempe, Arizona, won the 141-pound title, defeating Northwestern’s Frankie Tal-Shahar 8-2 in the championship match. Starocci, a senior from Erie, Pennsylvania, won the 174-pound title, defeating Iowa’s Michael Kemerer 6-4 in the championship match.
Penn State had five wrestlers finish in the top three of their respective weight classes, including Bartlett, Starocci, Aaron Brooks, Greg Kerkvliet, and Levi Haines.
“We’re proud of our guys for competing at a high level and bringing home another Big Ten title,” said Penn State head coach Cael Sanderson. “We’re looking forward to the NCAA Championships and seeing what our team can accomplish.”
