The Penn State Nittany Lions wrestling team put on a show in their latest dual meet, dominating American 45-0. The shutout victory marked Penn State’s 70th consecutive dual meet win and improved their overall record to 16-0.
The Nittany Lions won all 10 bouts, with five wrestlers recording bonus-point wins. No. 1 Beau Bartlett (141 pounds), No. 1 Carter Starocci (174 pounds), and No. 1 Greg Kerkvliet (285 pounds) all recorded technical falls, while No. 1 Levi Haines (157 pounds) and No. 2 Shayne Van Ness (149 pounds) earned major decisions.
“We’re wrestling well, but we can still improve,” said Penn State head coach Cael Sanderson. “Our guys are competing at a high level, and we’re excited to see where this season takes us.”
The Nittany Lions will look to continue their winning streak next weekend when they travel to Minneapolis to face the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
