PENN STATE WRESTLING: CARTER STAROCCI ENDED DUAL MEET CAREER ON HIS TERMS
Carter Starocci, a standout wrestler for Penn State, concluded his dual meet career on his own terms, leaving an indelible mark on collegiate wrestling. Throughout his tenure, Starocci amassed an impressive 110–4 record, achieving a 96.49% win rate and securing 60.62% of his victories by fall.
In the 2023–2024 season, Starocci posted a 9–0 record in dual meets, contributing significantly to Penn State’s undefeated dual meet season. His performance included three pins, six technical falls, and one major decision. Despite a knee injury that led to a medical forfeit at the Big Ten Championships, Starocci demonstrated resilience by returning to win his fourth NCAA title, solidifying his legacy as one of the sport’s greats
Starocci’s dedication and competitive spirit were evident in his approach to wrestling. He expressed a willingness to give his all on the mat, stating, “I’m going in a battle and I’m willing to die out there.”
