Good news: Former Cal Baptist Wrestler Mitchell Mesenbrink Transferring to Penn State….
Mitchell Mesenbrink, a Wisconsin native, transferred to Penn State’s wrestling program in April 2023 after a brief tenure at California Baptist University. At Cal Baptist, he competed in the 165-pound weight class, achieving a perfect 2-0 record.
Upon joining Penn State, Mesenbrink made an immediate impact. He secured individual titles at both the 2023 Journeymen Classic and the 2023 Black Knight Invitational, maintaining an undefeated record during these tournaments.
In the 2023-2024 season, Mesenbrink continued his impressive performance, achieving a 26-1 record. He clinched the Big Ten Championship and advanced to the NCAA Finals at 165 pounds, where he narrowly missed the title, finishing as the runner-up.
