Notre Dame is poised to hire Ja’Juan Seider, the current running backs coach at Penn State, to fill their own running backs coaching position. Seider, who has a strong reputation as both a coach and recruiter, is expected to join the Fighting Irish staff, replacing Deland McCullough, who departed for the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders.
Seider’s coaching career began at Marshall, and he later served as the running backs coach at West Virginia from 2013 to 2016. In 2018, he joined Penn State as the running backs coach and was promoted to Co-Offensive Coordinator in 2021. He is particularly noted for effectively managing a talented running back group, including standout players like Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen.
The official announcement of Seider’s hiring is anticipated within the next week or two. His addition is expected to strengthen Notre Dame’s running backs coaching staff and enhance their recruiting efforts.
