Exclusive: Brighton close to agreeing £20m striker deal.

Brighton & Hove Albion are in advanced negotiations to sign 19-year-old striker Stefanos Tzimas from 1. FC Nürnberg for £20 million. Tzimas, on loan from Greek club PAOK, has impressed in the 2. Bundesliga this season, scoring nine goals and providing two assists in 16 appearances. His development under Nürnberg manager Miroslav Klose has attracted interest from several European clubs, but Brighton are leading the race for his signature.

Tzimas began the 2024-25 campaign as a substitute but has earned a starting role in Nürnberg’s recent matches. He became PAOK’s youngest-ever goalscorer at 17 and contributed to their Greek Super League title last season. Brighton currently have forwards Danny Welbeck, Evan Ferguson, Joao Pedro, and Georginio Rutter, but are keen to bolster their attacking options.
