**Penn State Offseason Storylines: Replacing Two Elite Secondary Pieces**

Penn State enters the 2025 offseason facing a major challenge: replacing two key secondary players, cornerback Joey Porter Jr. and safety Ji’Ayir Brown, both of whom are heading to the NFL. These departures leave significant voids in the Nittany Lions’ defense, as Porter Jr. was a lockdown corner and Brown a turnover machine.

Sophomore Kalen King is expected to step into the No. 1 cornerback role, with freshman Jalen Glover also emerging as a potential contributor. At safety, senior Keaton Ellis and sophomore Zakee Wheatley will likely take on more prominent roles, with freshman Sincere McFarland as a potential X-factor.

With a strong defensive front, Penn State will rely on its new secondary pieces to maintain its status as one of the Big Ten’s top defenses in 2025.
