Headlines: Verstappen asserts, “Red Bull’s updates did not work after Newey’s departure.”…

Max Verstappen has made an eye-opening statement regarding Red Bull’s performance after the departure of chief technical officer Adrian Newey, claiming that the team’s updates did not have the desired effect. Red Bull, widely regarded as one of the most successful teams in Formula 1 in recent years, has been a dominant force in the sport, thanks in no small part to Newey’s design expertise. However, after his temporary absence from some of the team’s development work, Verstappen has suggested that the updates introduced to their car did not bring the expected improvements.

Newey, who has been credited with designing some of the most innovative cars in F1 history, played a pivotal role in Red Bull’s dominance in the past seasons. His technical insights have been integral in developing Red Bull’s winning cars, and his departure, even if temporary, seemed to cause a noticeable gap in performance.

Verstappen’s comments add fuel to the fire surrounding the team’s future developments, with many speculating that Red Bull could face challenges in maintaining their edge over rival teams. Despite the issues with updates, Verstappen’s talent and ability to extract maximum performance from the car have kept the team competitive, but he emphasized that the technical side must also stay at the forefront of development for Red Bull to remain championship contenders.

With the 2025 season approaching, Red Bull will need to address these concerns if they hope to continue their dominance in F1, especially as other teams, including Ferrari and Mercedes, make strides in car development.
