News line: Williams presses Alpine for Colapinto decision Alpine only has a few more days to snap up the services of Franco Colapinto for 2025.

The latest rumors from the Abu Dhabi paddock suggest that Alpine may be considering a change in their driver lineup for 2025, with team advisor Flavio Briatore reportedly eyeing Franco Colapinto as a potential replacement for Esteban Ocon. Alpine’s interest in Colapinto seems to stem from the team’s dissatisfaction with rookie Jack Doohan, who struggled with a last-place qualifying result in Abu Dhabi.

Williams team principal James Vowles has stated that if neither Red Bull nor Alpine secures Colapinto by mid-December, he will remain with Williams as a reserve driver for the 2025 season. Williams holds a firm contractual position with the 21-year-old Argentine, but Vowles remains open to discussions on a longer-term commitment, including options for two to four years.
