The Chicago Bears have re-signed veteran tight end Marcedes Lewis to a one-year contract. At 40 years old, Lewis is set to become the oldest tight end in NFL history as he enters his 19th season.
Last season, Lewis played in all 17 games for the Bears, recording four receptions for 29 yards and one touchdown. Throughout his career, he has accumulated 436 receptions, 5,113 yards, and 40 touchdowns, with previous stints at the Jacksonville Jaguars and Green Bay Packers.

Lewis’s extensive experience and leadership are expected to continue benefiting the Bears’ tight end group, which includes Cole Kmet and Gerald Everett. Everett joined the Bears on a two-year contract in March 2024, bringing his own solid track record from previous seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers and Seattle Seahawks.
