On April 4, 2009, Troy Sunderland resigned as Penn State’s wrestling coach after 11 seasons. Sunderland, an All-American wrestler, went 115-90-2 as PSU’s head coach but the Lions finished 8-12-2 in his final season.
Everything would change for Penn State’s program 13 days later, on April.
