Premiership chairman confirms Rangers negotiations over transfer of ‘fantastic’ young talent
Rangers Football Club has secured the signing of 22-year-old Dundee midfielder Lyall Cameron on a pre-contract agreement. Cameron will join the Ibrox squad after his contract with Dundee expires this summer. The Scottish Under-21 international has been recognized as one of the most talented young players in Scotland, having made 108 appearances for Dundee, scoring 27 goals and providing 12 assists.
Rangers’ technical director, Nils Koppen, expressed his enthusiasm for the acquisition, stating, “He is a talented young player, who has already gained great experience in the Scottish Premiership, and adding young, Scottish talent to our first-team squad is hugely important to all of us at the club.”
Prior to securing Cameron’s signature, there was competition from other Scottish Premiership clubs, notably Aberdeen, who were also interested in the midfielder. However, Rangers managed to finalize the deal, ensuring Cameron’s move to Ibrox upon the conclusion of his current contract.
This signing aligns with Rangers’ strategy to invest in young, domestic talent to enhance their squad depth and future prospects. Cameron is the second addition to the team in this transfer window, following the loan signing of Lille defender Rafael Fernandes.
