Penn State’s Aaron Brooks has made history by winning his third consecutive Big Ten title at 184 pounds. Brooks, a junior from Hagerstown, Maryland, defeated Michigan’s Myles Amine 7-4 in the championship match.
Brooks’ dominant performance capped off an impressive tournament for the Nittany Lions, who finished second in the team standings. Brooks’ victory marked the 14th time a Penn State wrestler has won a Big Ten title under Coach Cael Sanderson.
“Aaron has been an absolute leader for our team all season,” said Sanderson. “His work ethic and dedication are second to none.”
Brooks’ win sets him up for a potential fourth consecutive Big Ten title next season. He will look to continue his success at the NCAA Championships, where he will aim to win his third consecutive national title.
