
*Cael Sanderson Named Coach of the Year*

Penn State wrestling coach Cael Sanderson has been named the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Coach of the Year. This prestigious award recognizes Sanderson’s outstanding leadership and success with the Nittany Lions program.
Under Sanderson’s guidance, Penn State has become a dominant force in college wrestling. During his tenure, the Nittany Lions have won eight NCAA team titles, including four in the last five years.
Sanderson’s coaching philosophy emphasizes hard work, discipline, and a focus on individual development. His ability to recruit and develop top talent has been instrumental in Penn State’s success.
“Cael Sanderson is an exceptional coach and an outstanding leader,” said Penn State Athletic Director Patrick Kraft. “His commitment to excellence and his dedication to his student-athletes are hallmarks of his program.”
Sanderson will receive his award at the NWCA Convention in August.
