The University of Kentucky has agreed to a contract extension with football coach Mark Stoops, ensuring he will remain at the helm of the Wildcats program through the 2027 season.
The extension, which was announced by the university on Tuesday, is a testament to Stoops’ success during his tenure at Kentucky. Since taking over the program in 2013, Stoops has led the Wildcats to four bowl victories and has consistently produced winning seasons.
“Mark Stoops has been a game-changer for our football program,” said University of Kentucky Athletics Director Mitch Barnhart. “He’s not only a great coach, but he’s also a great leader and mentor to our student-athletes.”
Stoops, who has a 62-57 record at Kentucky, expressed his gratitude to the university and his excitement about the future of the program.
