PENN STATE WRESTLING: ‘MAGIC MAN’ PLUCKS A PAIR OF PENN STATERS..

Penn State wrestling has seen some significant changes recently. Two of its starters, Alex Facundo and Gary Steen, have announced that they’re transferring to Oklahoma State, where they’ll join forces with Penn State legend David Taylor, also known as the “Magic Man” ¹.

Facundo, who finished 12th at the 2023 NCAA Championships, and Steen, who struggled with a 6-15 record in the 2022-23 season, will likely find new opportunities at Oklahoma State. Their departures from Penn State aren’t entirely surprising, given the depth and talent of the Nittany Lions’ lineup ¹.

Meanwhile, Penn State has been bolstering its roster with new additions, including Rocco Welsh, a former national runner-up who’s joining the team from Ohio State ². Welsh is expected to compete at 184 pounds, although he’ll face stiff competition from Zach Ryder, who’s endorsed by none other than Carter Starocci ³.
