Unbelievable: Penn State wins the 2025 NCAA DI men’s wrestling team title
Penn State has made history by winning the 2025 NCAA DI men’s wrestling team title, their fourth consecutive title and 13th overall. This achievement is a testament to the team’s hard work and dedication, solidifying their position as a dominant force in college wrestling ¹.
The Nittany Lions were led by Carter Starocci, who became the first five-time NCAA champion, defeating Parker Keckeisen 4-3 in the 184-pound final. Mitchell Mesenbrink also joined Starocci as a Penn State national champion, beating Iowa’s Michael Caliendo 8-2 for his first individual title ¹.
In addition to their individual champions, Penn State put eight additional athletes on the podium, including Josh Barr, Luke Lilledahl, Braeden Davis, Beau Bartlett, Shayne Van Ness, Tyler Kasak, Levi Haines, and Greg Kerkvliet. The team scored a total of 177 points, breaking the all-time scoring record for the NCAA tournament ¹.
